DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Tisseau à Montpellier (unlisted), gold and enamel verge fusee, 39mm, 18K OF original consular case with basse-taille enamel back under crystal, raised enamel work on borders, large rose-cut diamond atop pendant, KWKS, WED with variant spelling of signature and place, gold and silver hands set with rose-cut diamonds, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced & engraved foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, without number, in outstanding condition, ca 1780. Gross weight of assembled watch 36.8 dwt (57.4 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, good balance motion, good escapement function, plates show mint gilding, no oxide on steel components; dial perfect; hands excellent, one tiny stone missing; mint original case shows hardly any wear, pristine tarnish around pendant and elsewhere, hardly any MFS, no dents or dings, perfect enamel; closure good; bow & pendant original, tight and showing little wear; good domed glass crystal in back, 32.4mm crystal needed in front. A gem.
